DAY 1:NAIROBI/ AMBOSELI,
After breakfast morning drive South East of Nairobi to Amboseli National Park, one of the most popular parks on the Tanzania border offering unique spectacle; the backdrop is the snow-capped, Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain proudly standing at 19,344ft,. Lunch will be served at Ol Tukai Lodge. Afternoon game viewing drive. Dinner and overnight at OL TUKAI LODGE OR SIMILAR (full board).
DAY 2:AMBOSELI,
Spend a further day in Amboseli National Park, with morning and afternoon game drives. Here you can see a proliferation on Giraffe and Elephants. The 56 species in this park include Baboon, velvet Monkey, Lion, Cheetah, Zebra, Wildebeest and Grant’s gazelle.Breakfast, lunch and dinner and overnight at OL TUKAI LODGE OR SIMILAR (full board).
DAY 3:AMBOSELI/ ABERDARES,
After breakfast morning drive with picnic lunches via Nairobi to the Aberdares National Park. On our way we pass through the lush hill country of the Kikuyu people. This area is known for its growing of Kenyan Arabica coffee beans. We arrive in time for lunch at the Aberdares Country Club, an elegant baronial style country home set in sprawling superbly landscaped gardens.
We continue to Aberdare National Park entering through the Ark gate. Our first opportunity for wildlife viewing comes in a very unique setting, the Ark. The Ark was built to resemble the biblical Ark where we will stay overnight and have the opportunity to view animals as they come to drink along a natural waterhole. Here we may see elephant, rhino, bongo (rare nocturnal antelopes with black on tan stripes) and other species. Dinner and overnight at THE ARK LODGE OR SIMILAR (full board).
DAY 4:ABERDARES / SAMBURU,
After breakfast morning drive across the equator into the semi-desert bush country of northern Kenya. Here you will meet the nomadic tribes of Samburu, Borana, and Turkana who have lived in this land blessed with rich colors and a variety of landscapes. Lunch at Shaba Sarova Lodge. Afternoon game viewing drive. Dinner and overnight at SHABA SAROVA LODGE OR SIMILAR (full board).
DAY 5ABERDARES / SAMBURU,
Spend one more day at your lodge with both morning and afternoon game viewing drives. There will be the reticulated giraffe, Grevey's Zebra, Warthog, Gerenuk, Oryx, and if you are lucky, a Leopard. In the evening there is the opportunity to hear a talk about one of the tribes - and photograph these colorful people. Breakfast, lunch and dinner and overnight at SHABA SAROVA LODGE OR SIMILAR (full board).
DAY 6:SAMBURU/ MOUNT KENYA,
After breakfast morning drive across the equator through the fertile Central Highlands – reminiscent of the English countryside and thus favored by the original settlers for their country homes – until we reach the exquisite Mount Kenya Safari Club. Sprawled on the slopes of Mount Kenya, this exclusive Club offers luxury unparalleled on the continent. All the amenities you would expect from such an establishment are here, including riding, golf, trout streams and tennis, as well as a charming animal orphanage worthy of a visit.
A two-night stay here is a luxury seldom enjoyed on Safari, affording time to also explore surrounding game parks. We visit Ol Pajeta, a private game ranch with its wild variety of terrains and large selection of animals including a rhino sanctuary with Morani, the ranch’s habituated black rhino which one may touch. We also enjoy a boat ride along the Uaso Nyiro River observing numerous orphaned adolescent Chimpanzees living along the river bank, an important conservation project under the direction of Jane Goodall. DAY 7:MOUNT KENYA/ LAKE BARINGO,
After breakfast morning drive via Thompson’s Falls with picnic lunches gradually descending to the floor of the Great Rift Valley, passing Mt. Longonot en-route to Lake Baringo. This is one of the two freshwater lakes in the Rift Valley and a bird watcher’s paradise – it has over 460 recorded bird species. Check in at Lake Baringo Club where you will find plenty of Information on the area’s bird life in your room. A resident Ornithologist leads walks before breakfast and in the evenings. Dinner and overnight at LAKE BARINGO CLUB OR SIMILAR (full board).
DAY 8:LAKE BARINGO/ LAKE NAKURU,
After breakfast morning drive via Thompson’s Falls, down the floor of the Great Rift Valley escarpment to Lake Nakuru National Park, a protected game sanctuary for endangered species such as the Black/ White rhino, Rothschild Giraffe among other usual game such as the leopard and Lion. The park is world-renowned for its millions of pink Flamingoes found around the lake. Lunch will be served at Lion Hill Sarova Lodge. Afternoon game drive until sunset. Dinner and overnight at LION HILL SAROVA LODGE OR SIMILAR (full board).
DAY 9:LAKE NAKURU/ MAASAI MARA
After breakfast morning drive west across the floor of The Great Rift Valley to the richest stocked game reserve set in some 1672 sq kilometers – The world renowned Maasai Mara Game Reserve, an unlimited spectacle of wildlife among vast rolling plains. Lunch will be served at Mara Sarova Camp. Afternoon game drive until sunset. Dinner and overnight at MARA SAROVA CAMP OR SIMILAR (full board).
DAY 10:MAASAI MARA
Spend a further day in the vast Maasai Mara Game Reserve exploring and game spotting - see the herds of Elephants, Lions, Buffaloes as well as the graceful Gazelles. Visit the Mara River and watch Hippos swim or bask in the sun with a chance of sighting the elusive Leopard or Rhino. All meals included. Overnight at MARA SAROVA CAMP OR SIMILAR (full board).
DAY 11:MAASAI MARA/ NAIROBI/ DEPART,
After breakfast morning drive back to Nairobi arriving in time for lunch on own arrangements. Evening transfer to JKIA for your outbound flight.
